I am currently an assistant professor of economics at San Jose State University.    My research focuses on experimental macroeconomics, complex systems / agent-based modeling and monetary theory, including money search models that explore multi-currency economies and cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.  Previously, I worked in the software industry in Silicon Valley for 10 years as a software product manager.

I have a BA in economics from Stanford University, an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, and a PhD in economics from UC Santa Cruz.
