Junhui Hou was born in Xin'xiang, Henan Province, China, in 1988. He received the B.Eng. degree in information engineering (Talented Students Program) from the South China University of Technology (SCUT), Guangzhou, China, in 2009, the M.Eng. degree in signal and information processing from Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), Xi’an, China, in 2012, and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2016, respectively. He joined the Department of Computer Science, CityU as an Assistant Professor in Jan. 2017. His research interests fall into the general areas of visual signal processing, such as adaptive image/video representations, learning based motion capture data and depth video analysis, 3-D geometrical data representations, discriminative modeling for clustering/classification, and hyperspectral image analysis. He was the recipient of several prestigious awards, including Chinese Government for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad in 2015 from China Scholarship Council and Early Career Award in 2018 from Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) .
