Gordon Johnson serves as preaching minister with the Juneau Church of Christ. He began this local evangelistic work in February, 2014. Previously Gordon preached with the Church of Christ in Lompoc, California. He is married to Courtney Speegle of Bozeman, Montana; they were wed January 11, 2014, shortly before moving to Juneau.
In his own words, "I desire to be a minister who inspires growth and true discipleship in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I would strive to help all of my brothers and sisters in Christ to bountifully bear fruits of good works and to have these fruits and deeds impact the communities where we live so that all will know these are the results of our Lord Jesus Christ who is living and working actively within our lives. It is my goal to partner with a congregation so we can expand God's Kingdom by becoming and developing wholeheartedly, fully-engaged followers of Jesus Christ (John 3:30, Gal. 2:20). Regardless of the victories or defeats that we all experience each day, our focus should be on living this life for God in response to His goodness (Col. 1:9-12, Eph. 4:1-3). I believe that God desires for all of us to receive the salvation from sin that only He offers, but also to become people that look like Him in matters of character and attitude. Christianity is about more than salvation, it is also about transformation (Rom. 12:1-2). Becoming like Christ."
