EVERYONE must submit AmeriCorps Time Logs on posted due dates every two weeks. Below you will find two versions of the time log attached. "Print and Fill In" allows you to print, hand-write hours, sign and date. "Electronic" allows you to type your hours in and auto-calculates for you to print, sign and date.

CAREFULLY read the below instructions. If you make an error on a time log, you will be given a number which correlates to a specific error on the list below. The log will be left outside the Jumpstart office for you to redo PROMPTLY. It is your responsibility to submit all hours in a timely manner and to correct errors immediately!

Americorps Requirements for Paper Timelogs:

  1. If you make a mistake on your timelog, you must draw one line (not two) through your error and initial next to it:

  2. You may not scribble out mistakes or try to make one number look like another number
  3. There may not be more than 1 mistake on a time log.  If you make 2 mistakes you have to print it again and REDO.
  4. Next to “Jumpstart Site” you must write: “Jumpstart Los Angeles County at Pitzer College "
  5. Next to “Preschool Program Partner” you must list the name of your preschool.  The preschools (with correct spelling) are:  Foundation La Verne, Foundation San Dimas, and Easter Seals Child Development Center. 
  6. There may not be printed zeros and written numbers in the same box. 
  7. There may not be any hours recorded during campus closure, except with written permission from your site manager.
  8. There must be either a number or a zero in all “subtotal” and “total” boxes.  These boxes CANNOT be left blank. 
  9. Your original signature must be on the time log.  Faxed, scanned, or emailed signatures are not acceptable. 
  10. You must sign and date your signature the same date as the period ending date.  If you accidentally put a different date you will have to fill out the whole time log again.  This may not be crossed out and changed.
  11. All math must be correct.
  12. Record all hours worked.  Be especially careful not to forget to record hours spent in training, preparation, travel time. etc. Reflection assignments on training should fall in the training column and Reflection assignments on direct service should fall with service.   
  13. If you are receiving work-study you must circle “Y” next to “Work-study” in the top left corner of the time log.  If you are not receiving work-study (and are receiving course credit or no credit) you must circle “N”.  If you use up your entire work-study award and do not receive any work-study money for a time log time period, you must circle “N” on that time log. 
  14. All time must be recorded as either whole numbers or in the following decimals; round any time you worked to the nearest 15-minute increment. For example, if you worked 1 hour and 13 minutes, round up to 1hr 15 min on your time log and record it as 1.25 hours.  DO NOT write 1.13 or 1.15.   
            .25 = 15 mins
            .50 = 30 mins
            .75 = 45 mins
