ABOUT ME

Juan Pablo Astudillo León received a Ph.D. in Network Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, in 2020, where he received the Best Ph.D. Thesis Prize on information and communication technologies; He was a post-doctoral fellow at Emera & NB Power Research Centre for Smart Grid Technologies at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, Canada; Specialist in Telecommunications Technologies and the Master in Telecommunications Engineering degrees from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2014 and 2015, respectively; He received the B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, Cuenca, Ecuador, in 2012; 

He was an assistant professor at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana; He also worked as a Researcher Fellow at Escuela Politécnica Nacional and Universidad Tecnológica ECOTEC, Ecuador;  He was part of the Complex Networks and Data Communication research group, Department of Electronics, Faculty of Engineering, University of Buenos Aires.  He has also done a Ph. D internship with the LIP - Laboratoire de l'informatique du parallélisme, Lyon, France. He is an External Researcher with The SISCOM (Smart Services for Information Systems and Communication Networks) research group in Barcelona, Spain.

He is currently a full-time Professor at Yachay Tech University, Ecuador; where I have served as the coordinator of research for the School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, the professional mentor of the IEEE Computer Society Yachay Tech, and the director of the Communication Networks and Intelligent Services Research Group (ComNet Innova YT). 

I have also been an invited professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Ecuador. His areas of interest include smart cities, big data, programming, artificial intelligence, data networks, IoT devices, 4G/5G cellular networks, wireless networks, Smart Grids, and vehicular networks. His research focuses on exploring artificial intelligence to improve routing, congestion, and performance in smart data networks. He also explores the application of Big Data in different areas of knowledge.
