This clipping I believe to be from the  1986 Appanoose County, Iowa History Book.

(Update 15 May 2010:  From Bill Hawkins: "The two clippings do come from the history book ... Appanoose County, Iowa, 1986.  Written by the People of Appanoose County, Compiled by the Appanoose County Historical Society, Printed by Taylor Publishing Company, Dallas, Texas.  Mamie's article is on page 129; the Conger Family article is on pages 159-160.")

In this description of the Conger Family it states:
"A Sarah Seamon married a William Cattern and they became the parents of William and Jane Cattern. The senior Mr. Cattern died and his widow Sarah married Joseph Milburn.  To this union were born Albert, Joseph, Frank and Rose Milburn.  Wallace Conger and Jane Cattern married on Dec 25, 1884 and became the parents of Frank, Charles, Pearl, and Jesse Conger.  Francis Conger married a Mrs. Smith and she died in childbirth."...
