Climate-Hydrology-Environmental systems are all inter-related.
Enhancing Resilience of Human-Environment Systems in a Changing Climate.
Overview
My research work focuses on diagnostic analysis and assessment methodologies to understand hydroclimatic change, nonstationarity in hydroclimatic extremes, and integrated view of climate and hydrologic variability and changes. Given my interest in research that integrates aspects of statistical analyses, climate changes on water science, environmental management, I greatly value the opportunity to use and further enhance my knowledge on issues of climate change relevance focused on understanding hydroclimatic change and its implications for coupled human-environmental systems.
Extreme hydrometeorological events are critically important not only for their episodic impacts, such as floods or droughts but also for their significant contribution to seasonal freshwater supplies that maintain the integrity of the human and natural system. I strongly believe that my observational and model-based studies could provide useful information for infrastructure design, decision-making, and policy to achieve our goals of enhancing the resilience of human-environment systems to climate change and increased variability.
