Trustee

When the bankruptcy petition is filed a trustee, (who is an attorney) is appointed to administer the estate and his or her job is to liquidate the Debtor’s non-exempt assets. Most Chapter 7 cases are no asset cases. In a Chapter 13 case, the trustee will review the plan and related documents and make a recommendation to the Court as to whether the plan should be confirmed. If the plan is confirmed the Chapter 13 trustee collects money from the Debtor and distributes it to the client’s creditors.
