J. Senthilnath is a Principal Investigating Scientist in the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. He has received his PhD in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), India. In the course of his career, he have been assigned several key appointments including the ISRO space technology cell fellowship and NASA space and earth sciences fellowship. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

    His research interests include designing new Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies like machine (deep) learning and optimization in multi-agent systems, materials informatics and remote sensing (satellite/UAV). His research has contributed several new AI tools for ISRO [disaster monitoring], NASA [phenology product], ST Engineering Ltd. [multiagent system] and Airlines [predictive maintenance]. He has published 80+ research articles in journals (42), book chapters (15), conferences (24), patent(s) (1) in the field of AI. For his research, he has won two best journal paper awards and three best conference paper awards.

    Dr. Senthilnath is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He was an organizing Chair of the ninth IEEE SSCI. He is the Co-Chair of the IEEE CIRS. He has also contributed as a program committee member in several international conferences. He is a Guest Editor of a special issue on "UAV Imagery for Engineering Applications using Artificial Intelligence Techniques (UAV-AI)" in Sensors, MDPI.
