Have you read about some of the new technology equipment that is available to help teachers with their instruction? Maybe you have seen some of the new technology equipment that your colleagues have gotten through grants. Or are you one of those teachers who were lucky enough to receive something through the grant and perhaps would like a little more information on how to set it up and use it?
Lee Wheeler will be teaching a beginning "Technology Awareness Class" for Jerome School District teachers. The one credit course through NNU will meet four times for 3 hours each. (November 29, December 1, January 26th and February 2nd). These face to face classes will start at 3:30 and end at 6:30. During the classes things such as Document Cameras, EBeam Edge, Avervision Pens, Mobis, Mobi Views, Mobi Learners, and Interactive WhiteBoards will be set up for teachers to use and become comfortable with. There will even be a chance for you to create a lesson plan and borrow the equipment to try it out in your classroom. In addition to the face to face class meetings Lee Wheeler will be in the district and visit with participants in their classrooms on Friday, Janurary 6th and Thursday, January 26th.
Just to clarify, this will be a face to face class with no online component. The credit is $60 through NNU. This is the first of 4 classes that are planned to help teachers become comfortable with all of the new technology things out there. The following three classes are less actual class meeting time but rather more practice in the classroom with Lee dropping in whenever he is in the area to answer questions and check on your progress.
