I anticipate the beginning of a new phase in our long history as a chapter in the Junior State of America organization. There is a simple test that I "conduct" to feel out how I think the year will go. Ever since Mr. Gehm's absence, I've seen a number of ups and downs; events that are memorable and yes, ones that I don't care to remember or just weren't that rememberable - but the simple test that I "conduct" never fails. So what is that test? It's fairly easy - I examine the enthusiasm of the new Executive Board (EB) and eventually the selected cabinet members (CB). If both the EB & CB are really excited about the new year...it never fails that the year is going to be successful. So had did my test go this year? - If you don't know it yet - you will, but you have an EB and a CB that is VERY, VERY enthusiastic about the upcoming school year and plans to see our chapter rise to new levels!
This chapter has a long standing reputation of being highly respected and having a "close family feel". With that comes the responsibility each year to uphold that reputation. If you are a new member, we'd like to welcome you and we hope that you'll have began a journey that will be remembered long after you have left the halls of Secaucus High School. I always tell new members - you get out of JSA what you put in to JSA and it can have major benefits for you down the road. If you are a returning chapter member - welcome back. It's my sincere hope that each of you will continue our reputation and take the new members under your wing and help them excel.
Yours Truly,
Mr. Viggiani
