On this page you will find .pdf files of many Hour Exams that were given previously in CHEM 110. Each file is named using the same system. For example, F10 CHEM-110-W02 HE 1.pdf is Hour Exam #1 for CHEM-110-W02 in the Fall 2010 semester. Please scoll down (near the bottom of this page) to view the complete list of previous CHEM 110 exams that are available on this site.
Please note that all exams were scrambled, and different versions (A, B, C, D, etc.) were given to students in which both the question numbers and the correct responses varied from one version to another. Only version "A" of each exam appears below. If you practice taking these exams, be sure to refer to the answer key that appears on the last page of each exam, to determine whether or not your answers are correct.
No version maps appear in the .pdf files of exams that were given in previous semesters. Beginning with this current Fall 2012 semester, I have included all versions of each exam in that exam's .pdf file. Each version of a given exam is followed by the answer key for that particular version of the exam. At the very last page of the .pdf file is a "version map." Such a chart shows how the question numbers vary from one exam to another. In the illustration below, you will find a sample version map for an exam that contained twenty-five multiple-choice questions. It shows that question #1 of version "A" was the same as question #25 of version "B," question #13 of version "C," and so on. Note that because all responses have also been scrambled, you will need to pay attention to the answer key for a particular version as well. This version map will help you compare your responses with the responses of your classmates.
