Independent living at Edwina Mountbatten House

With an attractive courtyard in the centre, one half of the mostly single storey building is devoted to flats for independent living. These are one bedroom dwellings, each with its own front door, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom, all connected to the Home with an emergency alarm system.

There is also a large sitting room for social gatherings, or just to provide a change of scene. A single guest room is available for tenants' guests to stay over at a small charge.

Some tenants of the flats take meals in the Home across the courtyard and are always welcome to join our Home residents for socialising or events taking place.

Rents of the flats vary, depending on size, which includes a service charge and water rates. The charges are set out on a separate sheet.

Outside each flat is a small paved area, which some tenants have enhanced with their choice of pot plants, etc.

Full details of the arrangements are supplied to all tenants of the flats and are available on request.

Those who think they might like to apply to live in one of the flats are invited to visit the Manager ( ) at the Home, who will discuss it with them and, if required, will take a note of their details and contact arrangements for consideration when vacancies occur.
