The Gift of Giving

Many JP families presented holiday gifts to the seniors at Elm Court, the nearby assisted-living residence.  Recently, we received this letter:

On behalf of the residents of Elm Court, please accept my sincerest thanks for the holiday gifts your students provided through the “Wish Upon a Star” program.  Our residents look forward to this project and the hand-picked items you deliver every year at this time.

The lovely selection of holiday songs the children sang made the event even more special.  We are extremely touched by the generosity of students and families of Johnson Park School.

Special appreciation goes to teacher Bonnie Walker for coordinating this unique project year after year.  Her thoughtfulness has contributed significantly to enhancing the quality of life for our Elm Court community.

Sincerely, Fay Reiter, Director of Social Services

We agree with Ms. Reiter’s sentiments, and we extend additional salutes to our first graders and their teachers who delivered the gifts and to music teacher Dee Mann who led our pupils in offering several seasonal songs.
