Contact Me

Born and raised in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, I moved the Triangle area in 1999 to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  In 2004, I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from UNC.  Before beginning my career teaching, I worked in several other areas of life including clerical work, sales, and transportation.  The 2007-2008 will be my third year of teaching 4th grade.  This will also be my third year at Fayetteville Street Lab School.  I have had other teaching experiences with 2nd and 5th grade.  I am currently in the process of acquiring my certification in the Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) program.  Education has become one of my passions and I am constantly seeking ways to improve my art of teaching.

I love Tarheel basketball and enjoy attending games whenever possible.  Scrapbooking, beading, and creating web pages are a some of the activities I enjoy in my spare time.  Photography has become one of my special interest areas in the past few years.  I also like movies, most types of music, and history.

I also love to travel and my sister and I spent about a month in London participating in a travel abroad program through UNC.  While in London, we visited Edinburgh, Scotland and Paris, France.  It was one of the best experiences of my life.  I recommend it to everyone!

The love of my life entered my world when my daughter was born in 2003.

My brother (pictured above) lives in Durham and is currently attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  I have one other brother who lives in Rio Vista, California.
