What Do We Believe?

We believe that Jesus Christ died so that we might have life, and live it ABUNDANTLY (John 10:10)!

We believe that every human was created with a purpose, and that mental illness in no way detracts from that purpose. We believe that brain disorders should be able to be discussed openly, just as diabetes or heart disease.  We believe that everything we have gone through was so that we could comfort others going through similar trials (Corinthians 1:4-7). We believe that God cares for us even in our darkest hours (Romans 5:8) and will never leave us.

We believe that God created each and every amazing brain - whether a particular brain experiences mental illness, enables us to care for an ill family member, or enables a scientist, researcher, psychiatrist, or psychologist to come up with effective treatments. We recognize that medications are often one part of mental wellness, and that taking medication in no way negates God's control of our situation or rejects His help. We believe that there is no single cure for mental illness, but that medication, other medical advancements, behavioral and cognitive therapy, exercise, social support, and reliance on our Heavenly Father are all involved in healthy recovery and coping.

We believe that prayer changes things - situations, minds, and lives.

We believe that through Christ, we are accepted, secure, significant, and FREE!
