Jordan Branch

I am an Associate Professor of Government at Claremont McKenna College. In 2020, I was an American Council of Learned Societies Fellow.

I received a PhD in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, in May 2011. In 2011-2012, I was the Hayward R. Alker Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for International Studies, at the University of Southern California. From 2012 through 2020 I was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Brown University.

My research and teaching focus on two issues at the core of international relations: the origins, features, and consequences of the territorial system of sovereign states and the role of technology and technological change in international politics.
