I am a PhD candidate in computer science at Northwestern University, working in Cognitive Systems.  My advisor is Ken Forbus, head of the Qualitative Reasoning Group.

I am researching sketch understanding and qualitative reasoning in order to create intelligent tutoring software that can understand and critique sketches of engineering designs.  We plan to use the CogSketch platform to create a "Design Coach" for Northwestern's Engineering Design and Communication program.
