The first guitar I refinished. This was originally a Samick, with words and lines scratched through the finish to the bare wood. I stripped the finish and did this 4-color airbrush job. I also added some custom tricks like a built in distortion unit controlled by two extra knobs on the front.
This was my second refinishing project. It was a hideous black and purple P-bass knock-off when I started, but I went a bit deeper than just refinishing--to the point of putting the body under a saw. Then, after a fresh base coat, I did a custom freehand lightning airbrush job.
The frets had been ripped out of the neck, so I inlayed oak into the remaining slots and leveled the fretboard to make it a fretless bass.
My third refinishing endeavor, on a Les Paul style guitar with sculpted top. The flames are a little hard to see under some lighting, but I spent hours upon hours sketching out the balanced, flowing shapes.
