I am a research fellow at Financial Supervisory Service in Seoul, South Korea. I earned B.A. degree in Economics from Sogang University, Seoul, South Korea, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. My major fields of interest are macroeconomics, monetary economics, and international finance, and currently I am focusing on macroprudential policy and monetary policy, such as a combination effect of these two types of policy on macroeconomic stabilization. I use DSGE modeling and some time series econometrics skills as primary tools for my research. My research goal is to find an optimal mixture of macroeconomic stabilization policies for developing countries which are heavily exposed to international financial market volatility, are dependent of heavy international trade volume, and have unstable economic (and non-economic) fundamental structures. Personally I am a fan of independent music and film, especially I am a fan of Dardenne brothers, Hsiao-hsien Hou, Alexander Payne, Wilco and Fleet Foxes. I am an avid Detroit Pistons fan.
