MST Club 2016 No-Stress Christmas Marathon Schedule

Revision 1.00 (12/23 8:58 PM)

Nothing is set in stone everything is flexible.  Times may vary by around five minutes?  Ragged timing is handled by filling gaps with shorts, oddities, Cthulhu carols and other things.  If a majority of viewers doesn't like something being shown, we reserve the right to replace with something else in our extensive library of weirdness.

// Particularly weird Christmas material...
MIDNT The Year Without a Santa Claus 2006 Live Action - A major network actually approved this bizarre live-action remake, with John "10 Cloverfield Lane" Goodman as Santa Claus and Harvey Fierstein as Heat Miser. (get it?)
01:30 Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas - A retelling of the somehow popular movie Elf, but in stop motion.
02:30 Pac-Man Christmas - The Christmas episode of the animated adaption of the video game.
03:00 The Wish That Changed Christmas - With a framing story containing Ronald McDonald, wheee.
03:30 Shorts Roulette - Due to a scheduling error, sorry.
04:00 Deck the Halls With Wacky Walls - A strange thing in which sticky rubber aliens come to Earth to discover Christmas. Written by Mark Evanier, who's pretty awesome.
04:30 B.C. Christmas - From the days when the newspaper strip was pretty good. Starring Bob & Ray!
05:00 Yes Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus - Bill Melendez, director of most of the Charlie Brown specials, also made this suspiciously familiar-looking adaption of the famous 1897 newspaper editorial.
05:30 It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown - There are three Peanuts Christmas specials!  This is the second, not nearly as good as the first.

// Better stuff for a while...
06:00 MIX: Rifftrax Christmas Rhapsody, Fireside with Cookie Monster, Christmas Can-Can, Weird Al: Christmas at Ground Zero, Weird Al: The Night Santa Went Crazy
06:30 Olive, The Other Reindeer - Based on the popular children's book. Starring Drew Barrymore.
06:45 Steven Universe: Three Gems and a Baby
07:30 Futurama: Xmas Story - The first of the show's several Christmas episodes, introducing Robot Santa.
08:00 Batman: Brave and the Bold Christmas - BatB was terrific, and the generally light-hearted tone meant it could gut punch you when you didn't expect it....
08:30 MIX: Hardrock Coco and Joe, Christmas Dream, Frosty, Christmas Toyshop, Suzy Snowflake - Don't miss Hardrock, Coco and Joe!  It's wonderful!
09:00 A Pinky & the Brain Christmas - A very good episode of the classic Saturday Morning show!
09:30 Viva Variety Christmas - Did you remember this show existed?

// With a break for some particularly notable yuletide crap...
10:00 The Christmas that Almost Wasn't, Starring Chuck E. Cheese - Not really what I'd call "animated," as it's just a half-hour long collection of stills with a soundtrack!
10:30 He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special - What is Christmas without huge musclebound guys and leotard-wearing gals cavorting around? Skeletor undergoes the Grinch treatment here.

// But now back to pretty good stuff...
11:30 How the Grinch Stole Christmas! - Possibly the greatest Christmas special of all.

**PM**
NOON
Opus & Bill: A Wish for Wings That Work - It's a shame this has fallen into obscurity. An uncredited Robin Williams plays the kiwi.
12:30 Will Vinton's Claymation Christmas - Another sadly-neglected special.
01:00 Muppet Family Christmas - One of the few productions that brought nearly the entire Muppet universe together, including Muppet Show, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock!
02:00 Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales - An excuse to package together some classic animation.
02:30 Taz-Mania Christmas - Taz-mania was a much better show than you'd expect.
03:00 WKRP Christmas - Foop suggested this one, for the sight of Johnny Fever having to suffer through endless Christmas carols.

// Riffing from MST, Rifftrax and one from Cinematic Titanic...
03:30 MIX: RiffTrax: Santa's Village of Madness & A Visit to Santa - A reprise of the K. Gordon Murray shorts.
04:30 CINEMATIC TITANIC: Santa Claus Conquers The Martians - Some of the MST guys re-riff the Christmas "classic."
06:00 RIFFTRAX: Star Wars Holiday Special - RED ALERT: THIS is the thing that George Lucas disavows. It's one of the funniest Rifftrax of all, though!
08:00 MST3K: 521 Santa Claus - The MST guys go through the K. Gordon Murray Christmas treatment.
09:30 RIFFTRAX: Live Shorts-travaganza - A live show by the Rifftrax guys (and Weird Al, I think!) suffering through more Christmas material.

// Winding down with some non-Christmas fare...
11:00 RIFFTRAX: Super Mario Bros. - The amazingly misguided movie that disappointed a generation of kids gets the Rifftrax treatment.

DECEMBER 26
**AM**

12:30 RIFFTRAX: Plan 9 From Outer Space - Once proclaimed the worst movie ever made.  We know better now.
02:00 RIFFTRAX: Live: Sharknado - The Asylum's intentionally-bad schlockfest gets mocked.

// And finishing off with some Doctor Who.
04:00 Doctor Who Christmas Special: The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe - I am told this is the worst of the Doctor Who Christmas specials.
05:00 RIFFTRAX: Doctor Who & The Daleks - This movie might not be what you're expecting....
