I retired from Minneapolis, Minnesota and now live in Palm Springs, California.
The picture to the left was taken as the author photo for A Jesuit Tale in 2000. You can see more at my Facebook author page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/John-Shekleton/143435525755081?sk=wall
Today I look like:
Here's me on my Jesuit vow day in 1972.
As a Jesuit scholastic studying Philsophy in St. Louis in the early 1970's I looked like:
The above picture was taken for the grade school where I volunteered. You will notice the standard Jesuit scholastic garb of the 1970's -- grunge.
In 1984 I joined the Twin Cities Mens Chorus, now the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus. I made many good friends. Here I am in tuxedo.
I'm curently working on a sequel to Father Tierney Stumbles. It's coming along well, and I'm meeting enjoyable new characters.
The nicest thing anyone ever stated about my writing was Martin Marty, the American Lutheran religious scholar, regarding my 1996 Commonweal Magazine article about gays in the priesthood: Color, Movement and Mystery. He wrote: "Agree with Shekleton or not, about priesthood or gayhood, his is an eloquence that commands thoughtful response." Thank you, Dr. Marty.
