Why Join the Johnsburg Historical Society?
Interested in history? New members are always welcome to join our active organization. There are many ways to become involved: interview a town resident, write for the newsletter, learn the process of handling and accessing artifacts, submit a grant proposal, serve tea at a public program, organize historic photographs, help to mount an exhibit.
Our bylaws state; “Membership is open to all persons interested in the history of the Town of Johnsburg and supplies JHS with valid contact information (including an email address if possible). An “Active Member” participates in the ongoing tasks of the organization. A “Sustaining Member” financially supports JHS.” There are no dues as such to be a member of JHS. BUT, donations in any amount to our general fund are encouraged! An “Active, Sustaining Member” is the heart beat of the organization.
Meetings are first Monday of each month at 3 p.m. at Wevertown Community Center. If this time is not convenient for you, contact us for a small group special meeting time.
