Author of over fifty published articles and papers on: planning at product, market and organizational levels, economic realities and opportunities of regulation, education, and the use of environmental management tools and systems thinking in the planning process.
Adjunct professor at University of Illinois, Chicago and Illinois Institute of Technology’s, Stuart School of Business and Institute of Design in graduate industrial design, environmental, and management programs.

Managed the company's first consumer product effort in the automotive do-it-yourself market and had primary product management responsibility for the company's restaurant services group. (1982 -1985)

Responsible for the evaluation, development, and promotion of new product concepts related to engineering resins and high tolerance insert molding. Responsibilities included patent, trademark, and licensing matters, management of marketing efforts related to existing products, and development of materials analysis and test protocols for products involving EMI and RFI attenuation and material conductivity. Chemetron-Universal X-Ray Division of Allegheny Ludlum Industries
Design Engineer/Product Manager
Responsible for new product development, management, and marketing assistance. Interfaced with federal regulators and testing laboratories to upgrade products within industry and government guidelines. Developed a product line, including collateral market support, which significantly enhanced the company's image and resulted in a substantial increase in system sales. (1977 – 1979)
V. Mueller Division of American Hospital Supply Corporation
Responsible for concept design of precision, durable and disposable surgical instruments, and development of experimental protocol and presentations. Projects ranged from kidney stone retrieving devices and urological instruments to a highly experimental plasma scalpel, including the unit's support system. (1976 –1977)
The Other Side Youth Service Bureau
Responsible for the administrative oversight of five professional staff members and several volunteers in a non-profit aftercare program treating adolescents and their families during the transition period from institutional confinement to independent living. Responsibilities included grant-writing, fiscal management, group and individual design projects for the agency, and interface with grantors and contractors (ILEC/DCFS).
Involvement with the bureau started in 1972 on a voluntary basis and as a member of the founding board of directors and co-author of the program's initiating grant. A full-time position was taken in November of 1974. Served as president of the bureau's Board of Directors in 1976 and 1977.
Fendall Safety Equipment
Responsible for new product concept and development work related to the manufacture of eye, face, head, and ear protection. Projects included development of corporate identity, packaging, the design of a self-contained eye-wash station. Coordinated an addition to the manufacturing plant that included the design and fabrication of a series of plano lens polishing units. (1972 – 1973)
