John Voorheis

I am a principal economist in the Center for Economic Studies at the US Census Bureau. My research focuses on using administrative records to improve survey measurement and to answer questions at the intersection of environmental, labor and public economics. I have two current lines of research. The first line of research focuses on measuring the level and trends in environmental inequality, and investigating the long term effects of environmental inequality experienced at birth. The second focuses on measuring economic inequality and social mobility using linked survey, Census and administrative data and investigating the causes and effects of changes in these local area characteristics.
