Alfred Henry Johnson

Alfred Henry was a life long dairyman.  He married Mural Holdaway on May 16, 1906 and had five children.  Mural died in March of 1922.    Alfred married Francis Madsen on March 12, 1924.  They had two sons.  Alfred farmed with his father and brother until John retired, divided the farm and moved to Provo.  A very hard worker, Alfred  farmed until his death in June of 1968.

He loved to hunt, fish and garden.  An outgoing, friendly man, Alfred served on the Lake View Ward Missionary and the Old Folks Committee.   Taylor Allen, a local Farm Bureau Leader, was asked to testify before a U.S. Senate Committee by then Secretary of Agriculture, Ezra Taft Benson.  Allen sought out Alfred for advice.  He said: “Taylor, they put their trousers on one leg at a time, just like we do.  Go to the meeting in Washington  and tell it like it is!”  Alfred loved visiting members of his large extended family, neighbors and his many friends.
