Teaching Academy 
John F. Kennedy High School

  • The Teaching Academy is run by our Biology teacher Mrs. Stankiewicz. She has been running the academy since 2002. As well as participating in the program since 1998.
  • The teaching academy gives those students an experience to become real leaders as well as build them to becoming an excellent teacher.
  • Students get the opportunity to visit college campus and experience what it's like to be in a college setting as well as sit in a lesson for the day. 
  • Every Thursday morning, students get the opportunity to visit elementary schools such as Danube Elementary to tutor and teach kids. They get hands on experience handling  k-5 classrooms under supervision of a Danube teacher.
  • Students also participate in creating, planning, and participating in activities such as Dr. Seuss and trip to the LA Zoo.
