I am an assistant professor in the philosophy department at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Previously, I was a research fellow in David Chalmers' Centre for Consciousness at the Australian National University. I received my PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010.
My research focuses on issues in philosophy of mind, epistemology, and philosophy of action. Recently I've been thinking a lot about experiencing, perceiving, intuiting, conceiving, knowing (that and how), skillful acting, understanding, and grasping. This might reflect my general interest in the different sorts and sources of intelligence -- and, even more generally, in the relations between mind and world.
I also dabble in metaphysics, philosophy of language, philosophy of religion, meta-ethics, and moral psychology, among other areas. In the past I sometimes posted on such things over at Close Range, but not here (though you should probably go there anyway).
