I am a Dean’s Chair and an Associate Professor in the Department of Finance at the NUS Business School. I am currently the Director of the Sustainable and Green Finance Institute (SGFIN), a university-level research institute at NUS. I recently served as the Academic Director of the NUS MSc (Finance) Programme and the Research Director of the Centre for Asset Management Research & Investments (CAMRI).

I have taught in various educational programs, including executive education, in courses involving portfolio theory, equity, fixed income assets, options, futures, investment strategies, and risk management.  My current research interests focus on the effects of geographic factors on various economic outcomes, including sustainability and environmental issues.  I also work on research questions related to the effects of ownership structure on corporate decisions, and the role of various economic agents in disturbing and maintaining market efficiency.

My research has been published or forthcoming in top economics and business journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Review of Finance, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis . My research papers have also been presented at leading conferences, including the American Finance Association and Western Finance Association annual meetings, and the NBER Summer Institute.  I am also a Fellow of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER), a Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute  (ECGI), and a Scientist at the Asian Institute of Digital Finance (AIDF).
