I am an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Warwick Business School. Before joining Warwick, I held positions at Copenhagen Business School and the University of Manchester, and was a visiting scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I obtained my PhD in Business and Economics (cum laude) at the University of Groningen.
My research examines how socio-cultural contexts shape entrepreneurial activity across different countries, regions, and institutional settings. I am particularly interested in better understanding the mechanisms through which cultural values, social norms, and institutional arrangements influence when, where, and how entrepreneurship emerges. My work integrates theoretical insights from management, economics, and sociology with rigorous econometric methods to address questions of theoretical, policy, and practical relevance.
My research has been published in leading journals, including Organization Science, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of International Business Studies, and Small Business Economics. It has been featured in outlets such as Forbes[1][2][3] and the LSE Business Review[1][2], and has received multiple international recognitions, including nominations for the dissertation awards at the Academy of Management (ENT NFIB 2021), the Academy of International Business (2021), and the European International Business Academy (2018-2021).
