Computers and machines are becoming more and more sophisticated each year as advances in the field of artificial intelligence are at breakneck speed. We know of many advantages of AI, but some of the most intelligent people in the world are deeply troubled that one day, these machines will outdo there programming and rise up against us, posing a threat to the very existence of humanity.

Here are some of their warnings, and it’s up to us to heed or ignore them:

Stephen Hawking

“We should do all we can to ensure that AI’s future development benefits us and our environment.” “[AI] could either be the best or the worst thing ever to happen to humanity.”

Elon Musk

“I have exposure to the very cutting-edge AI, and I think people should be really concerned about it.” “I keep sounding the alarm bell, but until people see robots going down the street killing people, they don’t know how to react, because it seems so ethereal.

Sir Time Berners-Lee

"So, you have survival of the fittest going on between these AI companies until you reach the point where you wonder if it becomes possible to understand how to ensure they are being fair, and how do you describe to a computer what that means anyway?"
