There have been a lot of intelligent characters featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We have SHIELD director Nick Fury and his cunning tactics, The Ancient One’s almost infinite knowledge in the mystic arts, Peter Parker and his talent for chemistry, and Shuri’s mastery of technology. But among all these characters, no one portrays the word “genius” quite as much as Tony Stark. Just how smart is the playboy philanthropist billionaire? Joe Cianciotto. In the comic books, Tony Stark is described as a super genius who’s at par with the intellect level of Reed Richards, but his specialty is with physics, robotics, and computer programming. This has been showcased in the movies several times. One of the most amazing moments was in the beginning where Tony created the Mark 1 from scraps of Stark Industry weapons. But besides the awesome armor, Tony created a miniature version of the ark reactor. Joe Cianciotto.

In the first Avengers movie, Stark flaunted his intelligence by becoming an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics overnight. From the names and theories he mentioned and his contribution to their solution, you just know that he wasn’t bluffing. And in the same scene, he was able to hack SHIELD’s network. Let’s also not forget how easily Tony was able to adapt Wakanda’s nanotechnology. Between the events of Captain America: Civil War where Tony is first introduced to Black Panther’s suit and Avengers: Infinity War, Tony was able to create the Mark 50 which he stores where his personal arc reactor used to be. In the short amount of time, Stark was able to understand nanotechnology, and program it in such a way that it becomes almost organic to a point that the suit can morph into anything that Tony thinks. This is how the suit is able to switch from laser weapons, to blade like arm weapons, even merging both leg units to create superior thrusters. Joe Cianciotto.
