4 Must-Have Tools For Architects

Post date: Jul 19, 2017 11:4:20 AM

If you have an interest in architecture and were wondering what type of tools an architecture uses, here are 4 must-haves.

1. Satchel

They’re called messenger bags, or man purses. An architect is often travelling to construction sites, and this bag is perfect to carry the tools and gear he or she uses. It's stylish and functional.

2. iPad

Any tablet will do but I use the iPad because of its fluidity and reliability. I can just whip this out and take notes in meetings or show my designs. It’s also environmentally friendly since you’re using less paper.

3. Trace paper

I think this is the most common architecture tool that my non-architecture friends know about. They’re used for quick sketches and presentations. If you’re gifting your friend a set of trace paper, don’t forget to include a container.

4. Pens

Many people think that architects mostly use pencils but in reality, we use pens. I use 3 types of pens: the sign pen, the ball point pen, and a red pen. The red pen is important for redlining drawings.
