Research Interests
Our research is grounded in laboratory experiments to obtain insights into dynamical phenomena: from the dynamics of fluid flows to the crystallisation of clathrate hydrate emulsions. Furthermore, our recent experiments on the swelling of gels and the stretching of viscoelastic polymer filaments often led to unexpected phenomena. The research on the rheological properties of these complex fluids, especially polymers, could also lead to new materials and structures. The understanding, interpretation and re-use of those phenomena are then possible through a combination of experiments, theory and numerical modelling.
