An Assistant Professor of Biology, I joined the faculty at North Dakota State University in 2010. I teach Introductory Biology for majors (Biol 151), College Science Teaching (Biol 705), Curriculum and Instruction (STEM 704), and will teach General Ecology (Biol 364) fall 2013. My research interests began in historical ecology but morphed into biology education through a postdoctoral position at Michigan State University. At NDSU, I join a burgeoning faculty of discipline-based education researchers, working to understand learning at the undergraduate level.
