An Associate Professor of Biological Sciences, I joined the faculty at North Dakota State University in 2010. I teach Introductory Biology for majors (Bio 151), Curriculum and Instruction (STEM 820), and General Ecology (Bio/Zoo 364). My research interests began in historical ecology but morphed into biology education through a postdoctoral position at Michigan State University. At NDSU, I join a burgeoning faculty of discipline-based education researchers, working to understand learning at the undergraduate level.
