  • The JISC Usage Statistics Portal
The JISC Journal Usage Statistics Portal (JUSP) is being developed by a consortium of JISC Collections, Mimas, Evidence Base and Cranfield University. The portal will contain the usage data (COUNTER JR1 and JR1A reports) for each institution in respect of NESLi2 publisher agreements. Libraries are very interested in being able to profile usage and benchmark against others. The automatic harvesting of usage statistics from publisher web sites via the SUSHI protocol, as required by COUNTER (Release 3), is essential to scale the portal to include all publishers and intermediaries providing content to institutions. It is planned to have a production strength service in place by end October 2010 and to then to fully expand coverage during 2011. Naturally, federated access has been deployed, but in future finer-grained, entitlement-led access is planned.
