Jingyu Zhang (张静雨) is currently a Director of Quantitative Modeling at Ally Financial. He was born in Leshan, Sichuan Province, China in 1984. After he finished middle school in his hometown in 2000, he was admitted to National Science Experimental Class (全国理科实验班) sponsored by Ministry of Education of China at the High School Attached to Tsinghua University (清华附中), Beijing, China. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics from Fundamental Science Class (基础科学班), Tsinghua University (清华大学) in 2006. He received his Ph.D. degree in Operations Research from North Carolina State University in 2011. He joined Philips Research North America as a Member Research Staff in April 2011. At Philips he became a Research Project Lead in December 2013 and was promoted to Senior Member Research Staff in October 2014. He joined Bank of America Enterprise Model Risk Management as a Vice President, Quantitative Finance Analyst in September 2015 and was promoted to Sr. Quantitative Finance Analyst in February 2018. He joined Ally Financial as a Director of Quantitative Modeling in May 2024. He became an AVP of Quantitative Modeling at Merrick Bank, a subsidiary of CardWorks, as it acquired Ally Credit Card in April 2025. He joined Citi Model Risk Management as a Senior Vice President, Validation Lead in July 2025.
