"Phoenix of Maurapas  Swamp"
    Carved from a sinker cypress log slab that was buried in Maurapas  Swamp, that was clearcut of virgin Cypress in the 1850s




  

The image on the left is a wax reproduction cast from the "mother mold"
to be cast into bronze using the lost wax method.
  It is to be hung , floating 1 1/2" away
from the wall.


















  The images on the right are of the finished bronze
FROM THE PIROGUE / THE GATES OF HEAVEN  with patinas of : birchwood 
casey, liver of sulfur, cupric nitrate, ferric nitrate, and 
silver nitrate.
