FreeDXF

FreeDXF is a free .dxf importer for SketchUp.

2012-09-01 Version 0.57
  • Created a .rbz for easy installation.
  • Minor code cleanups.

Features

  • Select the number of Arc and Circle segments to use on import.
  • Imports TEXT, MTEXT, and DIM entities.

Usage

Select the FreeDXF v0.57 option from the Plugins menu.

Most of the options are self-explanatory, with the exception of the "Screen Text" option. Setting Screen Text to "No" will import TEXT entities as geometry (faces and edges.) Selecting "Yes" will import TEXT as SketchUp Text entities - the type that always face the Camera.

Easy Windows Install
  1. Start SketchUp.
  2. Open the Window > Preferences > Extensions dialog.
  3. Select the "Install Extension" Button.
  4. Right-click this link, select  "copy link address"
  5. Paste the link address in SketchUp's Install Extension dialog, as shown below.
  6. Click the "Open" button.
