Ji Liu is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Stony Brook University. He is also affiliated with the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, the Institute for AI-Driven Discovery and Innovation, and the Institute for Engineering-Driven Medicine. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Yale University, supervised by A. Stephen Morse, and was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Coordinated Science Laboratory, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, Arizona State University, working with Tamer Başar and Angelia Nedić.

His current research interests include distributed control, distributed optimization, distributed machine learning, multi-agent systems, epidemic networks, social networks, networked microgrids, and cyber-physical systems.
