With a careful JG design, a rather modest "PanaBode" becomes a very nice Summer home--- (click on these pictures to enlarge them).
What started out (and remained so for many years) a simple Panabode log cabin was transformed by skilled design, good workmanship into a very nice Lopez Island Summer Cottage. Modest beginnings such as this are often the basis for creating these nicer vacation places as one's incomes increase.
It took a bit of engineering to open up the small windowed end of the Panabode to the beautiful view of Cattle Pass. Greg True, my engineer, worked out a tube steel frame as shown in the lower right picture carrying the roof beams and resists possible 100 mph winds prescribed by the UBC/IRC Codes.
