Reaching out to southeastern CT's elderly

Now that we have finished Thanksgiving and helping 25 clients of the JFEC’s Food Pantry to celebrate a good holiday, we are moving on to preparations for Chanukah and our visits to Jewish residents in more than 20 nursing homes and rehab facilities in the region.

Under the guidance of JFEC Board Member Sema Stein, the Federation is using the Chanukah holiday visits as a kick off to rejuvenate its Friendly Visitor Program which reaches out to residents in nursing homes elderly who are unable to easily leave their homes.

An organizational meeting took place on Wednesday, November 30 at Temple Emanu-El.

If you are interested in being part of the JFEC’s Friendly Visitor Program contact the Federation at office.jfec@gmail.com or 860-442-8062.

All of this is made possible through your donation to the JFEC Annual Campaign. JFEC is a lifeline because of your help. If you haven't done so already please click here to make your tax-free donation to the Campaign using PayPal.
