Dr. K. Srinivasan is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He received his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and has
 held tenured/visiting faculty positions at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and Illinois Institute of Technology, ChicagoHe has authored several publications in the areas of jet aeroacoustics, resonant acoustics, active & passive flow control. As an editorial board member of International Journal of Aeroacoustics (IJA), he highlighted "lndian Advances in Aeroacoustics" in IJA. During his tenure as Reviews Editor of IJA, he also brought out a few issues on "Reviews in Aeroacoustics". Professor Srinivasan is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS, UK), Institution of Engineers, India (IEI), Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI), and Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Research Facilities (See Gallery): 
Our lab has high speed flow facilities for studying supersonic and subsonic flows such as free jets, cavity flows, resonant flow systems; anechoic (quiet) test facility for acoustic measurements; acoustic measurement systems including automated positioning and data acquisition systems, microphones; electromagnetic shaker; flow and thermal visualization systems.                           (See Gallery of Results)

 Research Opportunities:
Students desirous of pursuing Master's and Doctoral programmes are welcome and are encouraged to apply to MS and PhD programmes in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras.  (Please note that project positions are currently not available).

B.Tech. students, after 3rd year can apply for IIT Madras Summer Internship Programme, and if selected, can opt for working in our lab. Refer to IITM web pages for announcements on this.
