I am an associate professor at Northern Michigan University in beautiful Marquette, Michigan. I teach courses in public relations, new media and environmental responsibility. I am also the founder and director of the Northern Climate Network

Before moving to the Upper Peninsula, I spent five years (2007-2012) in the Human Dimensions of Natural Resources department at Colorado State University. I completed my doctoral degree at the University of Utah in 2007.  I am also a trained facilitator and I have a graduate certificate in Adaptive Management of Environmental Systems from the College of Architecture + Planning at the University of Utah.

In 2008, I published my first book, Interdisciplinary Research Team Dynamics: A Systems
Approach to Understanding Communication and Collaboration in Complex Teams. My second book, an edited collection of chapters and case studies about place-based learning in America's National Parks will be published in 2020 and I'm currently writing my third book, a textbook for Environmental Campaign Design.
