WELCOME

My name is Jessie Slater and welcome to my website.

I live in between Bradford & Leeds in a small village called Scholes (just outside of Cleckheaton) I am a member of Nova Bowmen Archery Club

I have been taking part in competitive archery since the age of 12 after completing a beginners course in September 2009. Back in August 2013, after 18 months of hard work and training, I was selected to attend the Archery GB Northern Performance Academy, together with 11 other athletes from the North of England. One of these athletes is also my brother Lewis Slater, you can have a look at his website by clicking here.

The aim of the Academy’s is to develop junior archers into medal winning competitors on the world stage, with the ultimate goal of competing in the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020

Obviously I am very excited at the prospect of being able to develop my archery with the help of ex Olympic athletes and coaches, and through hard work, determination and training, I hope to be able to represent Great Britain in the future.

I also have Type 1 Diabetes, which can be a challenge in itself, for more info on how I manage my Diabetes, please see the 'About Me' page.

I hope you enjoy my website, thank you for taking the time to have a look and if you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me via the ‘Contact Me’ page.

As for my parents, well the cost of taking me to all the training sessions and competitions is quite a burden on them, and it’s doubled as my brother competes as well, so if you would like to sponsor me or my brother, or offer any other kind of help, to help me achieve my goal, please get in touch as above via the ContactMe’ page

Thanks,

Jessie.

My ultimate goal....

Is to represent my country in Archery at international level and hopefully win some medals, with the hope of being selected for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. My immediate aim is to work hard at college and train hard for the Performance Academy, try and achieve a good balance between the two, and start a career within the sport and exercise science field.
