Jersey Boys 45 Tap members,

What a week in Dallas

for the Jersey Boys!

Led by John BaffaAnthony Borg,

and the incomparable Dennis Spears,

the boys from Jersey garnished their first

National Championship.

It was awesome.

Your Anger Makes Me Happy

also finished in second place

in the Dream team event!

George BergeronGennady Shturman,

John Felz, David Kneal, and Daniel George were all terrific!

What a job by that whole team! Congratulations to our first ever, National Champs!

The team that everyone were scared of were the monsters from Ideal’s in Newark. The Essex County state champs, “No Pressure”, advanced to the final 8 in the National’s “Elite “ board.  Led by Jay Brookins,Tyrone Brooks, and Junior Tennant, No Pressure breezed through the round robin portion of the tournament. They won 2 matches in the single elimination, before succumbing with a hill hill loss in the final 8. Great job by everyone else including captain Andre Hixon, Carol Escallaire, Keith Mitchell, and my manWilbur “Shake” Mitchell.

The third team from Jersey Boys 45 were the Union County Champs, Tico’s Academy from Hillside. Led by captain Ricky Cardoso, the team made it into the final 8 of the championship board. Sandro Cunha andJuan Carlos Sanchez Otarola,  played brilliantly. John Maciel, Tony Neto, Eddie Carvahlo, and Anibal Justiniano all contributed in Tico’s successful showing.

Jersey Boys, with only five players played very well in the Dream Team event. Yours truly, Jersey James Sydlo, Ricky Cardoso, Dennis Spears, Rich Loehr Jr., and Sabrina Gaviria,  had to play every match. We made it through the round robin with 10 victories, qualifying for the Elite board. We won our first match in the single elimination board, then lost in the final 16 in a sudden death thriller. It was a great job by the whole team.

Lucky And Good, led by captain Rich Loehr jr, made it to the final 8 in the championship board withJason Derose, Ashley Latham, Jesse Deutscher, Sabrina Gaviria, Ricky Balas, Pauli Caivano, andJersey James Sydlo all contributing with big wins.

 In the singles 3 bracket,

we have a National Champion too!

Sabrina Gaviria won it all!

Congratulations to Sabrina!

Finally, even I won the Scotch Doubles licensee tournament.

It was a great tournament and a monster showing from all the Jersey Boys and girls. I’m very proud to be your league operator and I can’t wait for the Rally! God bless you all and thanks for playing in the Tap league. It is a cut above.
