Post 0. On Statistical Principles of Ultimate

In our ultimate careers, we have received conflicting advice about how to play.  The motivation behind the advice is meant partly to build team chemistry, but the mass of conflicting advice is confusing. This led me to wonder, when you have the disc, in your ten seconds, what is your best option? ...

Drawing upon my other career (machine learning/statistics), I worked out a simple analysis to answer that question and to improve my game. Maybe it can improve yours, too.

This is the introduction to a series of posts--one a day--as we (MadMen) approach the series.
