I am a recent San Diego State University graduate with majors in Economics with a Specialization in Quantitative Analysis and Interdisciplinary Studies. My second major is compromised of Mathematics, Statistics and Sociology; its main purpose is to provide a broad background in various fields related to economics. One of my research interests is the application of wavelets to financial time-series. Wavelets are a relatively new development that highlights the dominant frequencies (what is moving the price) over time. I am currently working on applying this techinque to foriegn exchange derivatives (peso, euro, ect.) in order to gain a better perspective of how information shocks move through time.
