Pop-up concerts

Want to host a concert but not sure where to start?

Keen to share music in your Partnership or Federation but need a leader?

Haven’t got the staff resources to get your pupils singing?

You provide the venue, the children and the audience, and I can do the rest!

What is a pop-up concert?

A pop-up concert is a stress-free way of showcasing the vocal talents of your children. I can lead your students in a vocal workshop before the event and even run the final performance. All you need to do is provide a date, a venue - and as big an audience possible!

The concert can run along any theme - from Africa to Asia, world wars to wildlife, Christmas to Easter. If you have a whole-school Science week coming up or a Care for the Environment day - celebrate it in song! Whatever the theme, I know the songs that will get your pupils singing.

Why a pop-up concert?

It gives you great results in a very short time. It doesn't involve weeks of rehearsal nor any preparation by the teacher.

A concert will:

  • provide a unique opportunity for your pupils to perform in front of an audience
  • develop pupils' social skills
  • increase self-confidence
  • demonstrate to parents what your pupils can achieve

What's involved?

No two concerts are alike, but as a starting point, I suggest that most projects need at least:

1. One workshop session for each year group/class involved. This will usually include:

  • fun warm-ups
  • 3 or 4 songs (these will be tailored to the age group but usually include part singing as well as unison and action songs)
  • accompaniments provided by me on a piano, keyboard or CD

2. A rehearsal in the concert venue on the day of the event. The time required will depend upon the number of performing groups involved, and in some cases may require everyone together to rehearse joint songs.

What will it cost?

Depending on your exact requirements costs will vary. A half-day of workshop sessions usually costs £125, with an additional £125 for the concert and rehearsal on the day.
