225g unsalted butter, melted

115g caster sugar

2 tbsp golden syrup

115g plain flour

300g jumbo oats

Pinch bicarbonate of soda

Line a baking tin with greaseproof paper and preheat the oven to 180ÂșC. Mix butter, sugar and golden syrup. Add in the flour, oats and bicarb and mix well. Stir in any extra fillings. Press into the baking tin and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
